My Slash Awakening was reading E.M. Forster's Maurice at a tender age. Have loved Tolkien from an even tenderer age, when I dithered between wanting to be Aragorn and wanting to do inappropriately grown-up things to Aragorn. And Legolas. Oh, and practically all of them, apart from Tom Bombadil, whose singing is unforgivable.
